VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal), is a two-way satellite ground station with a dish antenna that is usually smaller than 3 meters. The applications are diverse for use with emergency management and disaster recovery; military, resource and mining sites; corporate communications and commercial network broadcasting. VSAT's are designed to provide reliable, fast, and efficient satellite connection in the most challenging, hostile and remote terrain. VSAT's are most commonly used to transmit narrowband data or broadband data (for the provision of satellite internet access to remote locations, VoIP or video). VSAT antennas range from 60cm to 2.4m, with data rates typically from 56kbps up to 4Mbps.
